This catalogue was published at the occasion of the exhibition ‘Beyond the Spectacle’ at PLATFORM, Munich Germany.

“Beyond the Spectacle” is an art and research project that aims to engage artists, thinkers and curators in dissecting performative art practices. The project consists of three components: an exhibition, research dialogues, and talks, all focused on exploring the boundaries between spectacle, art, and life. This project will center the body as the focal point for dialogue examining established and potential relationships between the artist and the audience. Furthermore, it aims to be a space for institutional critique and reflection on the current limits which shape the experience and work of performance artists. Lastly, this project aims to reimagine the possibilities of experiencing and creating performative work in a way that challenges capitalistic pressures and expectations.
