Gaze is a central quotient to the politics of the body. It is innately transgressive and voyeuristic, that protrudes and punctures. The performing body exists among the dichotomies of voyeurism. Where one sees accounts of artists questioning the act of probing and gazing, the performing body invites the other’s gaze often heightening the experience of a collective voyeurism.

My enquiry seeks to question the modalities of the performing bodies, gaze and its reversal and the politics of voyeurism and exhibitionism, display and spectacle.

What is the spectrum of the gaze? Can the spectator be spectated? What are the agencies to invert this interaction? Who is the performer and who is being performed?
